We are located in Historic Downtown Wilmington on the banks of the Cape Fear River. The facility was constructed in the late 19th century for the Atlantic Coastline Railroad (ACL) and was used as its headquarters from the early 1900s to 1960s. During that time, ACL was the largest employer and contributor to the area’s economic growth. The restoration and conversion of the ACL to the Coastline Conference and Event Center began in 1989 and was completed while still preserving the historic character of the building. As the transformation occurred, attention to detail was present as Coastline Conference and Event Center became the ideal wedding venue and conference space for many successful contemporary events.
The Event Center includes over 10,150 square feet of versatile meeting and convention space and can accommodate groups ranging from 10 to 1,000+ guests depending on the room configuration. All of our function rooms and outdoor riverfront deck areas can be transformed into anything from the simplest business meeting to the most extravagant wedding reception or gala. Adjacent to the Coastline Conference and Event Center is the all river front Best Western Plus Coastline Inn. Priority Room blocks can be secured subject to availability by the Coastline Conference and Event Center sales team for those groups using the center for their rehearsal dinner, wedding reception, birthday party, business meeting or any other type of event.
